Dan Wickes
Dan Wickes is a comedian from Long Island who writes sharp one liners. He was pretty good at Twitter back before Elon ruined it. Thankfully, he’s even better at standup. A ten-year veteran, Dan can be seen headlining breweries around the country, and closing out the Comedy Village in Hell’s Kitchen five nights a week. He is the winner of the 2021 Coney Island Comedy Festival and was a featured performer at SXSW and Skankfest in 2023.
If you’re here, there’s a good chance you’ve seen his roast battles. Dan came in third place in the Roast Battle League World Championships in 2025, and has hit the ground running in 2026 with big wins at The Comedy Cellar and Comedy Mothership. He runs Roast Battle League NYC every Wednesday at Grove 34 in Astoria, curating diverse lineups of people saying horrible things to each other. Dan’s roast battle career has caused him to make meaningful eye contact with several famous comedians he won’t name, just in case they get accused of something later and he forgets to update this bio.
A lot of people do standup to try to get laid. Dan arguably does the opposite, talking about living with Tourette’s Syndrome. This has given him a fascination with things we are not supposed to say, with an angle on how to make something knee-jerk uncomfortable as palatable as possible. He is frequently told after shows “I really appreciate what you’re doing,” which while not necessarily why he got into comedy seems to belie a positive impact. If you wanna see a performance, come to a show or watch him pacing around on the sidewalk
